The Sau Reservoir is an ideal place to practice water sports such as kayaking. You’ll be able to explore the natural area surrounding the reservoir from a different perspective. Don’t be put off if the water level is low, as this is when the iconic bell tower of Sant Romà de Sau Church reappears, being practically almost completely beneath the water since 1962, when the dam was opened and the village was submerged.
You’ll be able to follow paths to beautiful spots in the municipality of Tavèrnoles.
Savassona is the only iberic and medieval settlement, and a hike up to the little romanesque chapel on the hillock up ancient stone steps is an absolute must. This is also a climbing and bouldering area.
Climb up to the Puig del Far to get the very best views of the Sau Reservoir, of the Natural Park of Guilleries-Savassona and the Massís del Montseny range.
